For those who do not understand the Dutch language here is a small abstract in English. And as a bonus I (jan) did add some extra information to it.

Welcome at out Weblog

9 days and counting; than the six of us our going for a six week trip to Asia (Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia). This weblog is the place to see what we have done and where we are. If you want you can get an automatic E-mail whenever anything changes, just leave your E-mail address at ‘blijf op de hoogte' and al should work fine.

Our trip

We departure July 24 for Amsterdam to Bangkok and have a stop over at Cairo airport, we fly with Egypt air, we arrive at Bangkok July 25. The next day a Dutch speaking person picks us up with his mini bus and travels us around. We are going follow the river Kwai upstream until we find elephants to ride on. After one week Thailand we move on to Malaysia and have a relaxing week at a tropical Island near the shore. When this relaxing is over we are ready to explore Borneo Malaysia which includes a jungle visit for 3 nights with a long stairway to the top of the trees. There is where we spend the nights. Looking forward to do that.

August 15 we leave Borneo and continue our trip to Bali (Indonesia) where we stay at the north shore. This is the place to be if you want to go out and see dolphins, which is what we plan to do. August 17 is the Indonesian national holiday; we are lucky to be at Bali and are sure we will see some of the festivals. It will be a lot of fun. At Lowina I need to read some concept thesis from my students (3 in total).

By than we need another week relaxing at a small tropical island and we picked on of the Gili islands for this occasion (that is near Lombok). Ready for the last week, which includes a stay at Ubud (Bali) and two nights Bangkok before we have to return home.

What to do the next 9 days.

This weekend the girls (Silke and Fardau, age 4 and 6) are going for a sleep over to their grandparents so we do have time to pack and get ready. The boys (Jesse and Folkert, age 12 and 10) will help us out. We picked up passports and international driver license and need to get anti Malaria drug.

Since the children have new passport I need to confirm the passport number changes in all our 14 flight bookings. Looking forward to that job .. not.
